DCM - Die Cuts

As you may know, my mojo had walked out where cards were concerned! I tried to make something for the mid week extra, but although I had my list of B's & all the bits to hand, I couldn't make a design from them!!
I have no idea where this has come from, must have been after I pulled my latest layout out of the hat, all about Sindy & her fabulous amount of fashion!
Anyway, it has 2 double die cut flowers & 2 single die cut flowers. The bodice was cut from a template as I don't have the big shot die for it.
Papers are (background) Papermania, inspirations warm tones, (flowers & bodice) DCWV, Once Upon a Time.
Papermania buttons, brads & pearl brad. Flower for skirt, from a dear friend in Australia. Stamps by Memory Makers Collection & Hampton Arts.

All About Eve - Reincarnation

I decided to go with my sense of humour & be totally quirky. Well, Why Not?
Paper is a double sided sheet of Tres Mango Chic Collection, Mango Madness as I thought the pattern fitting for my 1970's Sindy. Spot tape, Heidi Swapp, pink dashed ribbon, papermania.
Prima flowers from Pearl, button centres, market stall purchase.
Titles are papermania chipboard & pink rub ons & the word Sindy is MM white glitter stickers coloured hot pink using my whispers permanent markers. Sadly the photo didn't pick up the glitter.I stuck closely to the sketch as my mojo had walked out last week!! I had fun & just enjoyed myself!
The journalling reads, Yes when I am reincarnated I am going to be a doll. Not any old doll mind, Sindy my childhood friend! Well, why not!! She has countless careers despite no qualifications. Yet, appears paid well as she has her own house with horse, furniture, jeep you name it. Every available Action Man wanting to take her on hot dates. And if she has any more outfits she'll need a second home! As if all this isn't enough, she is also adored by millions of little girls everywhere....

Happy Birthday Helen!

Today is my team mate, Helen's birthday. I was going to upload the card I made her but as usual blogger is broken right now & won't let me so alternative methods were needed.
Paper from Inspirations pack & image courtesy of Vintage Resources, as was my fairy ATC in the post below.
Hope you have a fabulous day, girlie!!

Art Journal wk34 & TMTA - Metal

Art Journal wk 34, what makes us laugh, what do we find funny?
Well for me is has to be classic comedy, pure genius, Billy Connolly & the TV show Father Ted.
For this weeks' TMTA, we had to use Metal. I have no metal papers/sheets etc, but I do have these gorgeous metal letters from Papermania, which goes so well with the fragile wings of the delicate fairy girl. I added purple glitter glue with a cocktail stick to the edges of her wings & the top & bottom of the metal letter to give shimmer. Paper is DCWV, Once Upon a Time..

I have been given several blog awards by various people & I will eventually get them onto the blog. It just concerns me how everytime you upload a picture you are using your free space. Once you hit your limit you will have to pay for more!!! I was always under the impression that blogger was free, but no more. Next time you upload to blogger using new post, add image, look at the bottom & it will tell you how much space you have left. I have currently used 10% of my space.

Mojo search!

As my mojo has gone walkabout, I have nothing new to show. However, this has not seen the blog so it is kind of new, to you readers anyway!
I made her two weeks ago, she started out as an ATC idea & might just make it onto one yet!! Papers are Papermania Inspirations warm tones, blossom given to me some time ago by a friend in a little rak. Sequins dropped off someones vest top & she saved them for me. Honestly, my colleagues are treasures.

DCM Buttons

I'm feeling very pink at the moment, must be all the Heidi Swapp goodies I have. Shame they can't help my creative block! Its taken me two hours to make these two cards & I still don't like either of them very much.
Im going to have a lay on the sofa & read a novel. Forget about crafting for a full day & see if it comes back. I have 3 layout challenges I want to complete, but as yet none are speaking to me.
My sketches are not making it onto the craft table. I am however doing quite well with my teamies CJ & my entry is all but finished & I am chuffed with it. So a small victory!!
Papers are DCWV, Inspirations warm tones. Buttons papermania. Flowers Dunhelm & Scrapfairies They look like prima but they aren't & half the price!! Adore is from a jotter sheet, Heidi Swapp. Baby outfit from a friend, Cat.

Blog Birthday attempt 2 & DCM Card

Here is the flipflop card, that blogger wouldn't let me upload this morning despite telling me i have used 20 more mb of my space! Hah! that's a joke.
Below is the card for the DCM mid week extra. Dots, dashes & stripes. Dots & stripes, paper (obviously) the dashes are the pink running through the ribbon. Best I can do.

Happy 1st Birthday, Blog!

I never thought I'd blog for a whole year, this last 4 months I have considered stopping altogether. Lets see what happens.
I was going to upload a picture of a flipflop card I made for my manager as it is also her birthday today, but sadly blogger is being a pig as usual & won't work!!!!
So not quite the happy birthday I planned for my poor blog!!

Art Journal wk-33 & TMTA - Music

For this weeks' Art Journal challenge, we were given the prompt 10 minutes.
Just create for 10 mins & see what you come up with. Layer it on & enjoy yourself!
Well I certainly did! I used my fav floral stamp,
lace & foam alpha stamps.

My first music ATC. I love the image of this violin.

This is my favourite of the two music ATC's but sadly the light is poor & the photo doesn't do this justice. Hopefully this is clear enough for you to see the vellum over laid on two edges of the picture.

Worth A Thousand Words

Here is the cover & the first
page of this book. The full
book can be seen over in my gallery
in a slideshow, via slide or on flickr.
Had great fun with this.

Another Inter -Team Scraplift.

This was based on a digital layout & I have no idea who did the original or where my team mate found it. I didn't stick very closely to it as it had an awfully large amount of white space!!
I took pictures from my file of styles. I use a mood board type of thing for decorating ideas & thought this was perect. The patterned paper down the side with the title printed onto it is Rhonna Farrer. I added a small pink paint chip, bits of lace & gorgeous pastel buttons to keep the colours soft. I really didn't want to do this one but I am very pleased with the finished piece.

DCM - Frills

I was asked on Monday to make a card with a red/oriental theme & my mojo had gone. I tried everything but had no luck. Then, last night I came up with this. At 4pm today I popped over to see what the Friday dare was on DCM & hey presto, my card fits the criteria. So, sorry its cheating a bit, but I most certainly can't make another. I can think of loads of layouts, (if I only had the time) but cards are a no no. I'm suitably impressed with this one in view of the circumstances!!
Paper is DCWV, Far East. Blooms were pink edged & I coloured them completely red using my Whispers permanent markers. The scallops have holes punched out & black thin ribbon threaded. The bow is just tied & a glue dot holds it on. I added a piece of lace for a feminine touch.

A Pixie "pick me up"

Now if this doesn't cheer me up nothing will!! This is what the delivery man brought me today.
It is a Heidi Swapp kit from USA. I treated myself to it after a particularly difficult month as a "well done" pressie for getting through & sorting the finances. Only to Feb & all will be okay & I can be happy properly!!
Now mojo, Where Are You???
I made this card last week for the sheer hell of it!!
After a very productive weekend of 3 layouts, (one I will share at the weekend which is a scraplift challenge) I have no mojo. I'm feeling kinda crap & nothing much is working for me on the craft table.
I have been around the various sites & I don't like any of the card sketches so for now cards are off my crafting menu!!
I have a few not shown so they will get an airing until I can be bothered to make anymore. I'd much rather lay & read or watch telly right now.

In Memory of Nigel

My BIL passed away 3 years ago today. It still feels like only yesterday as I miss him very much.
This is one of my favourite photos & the very last I have of him.

I have been tagged by my fab cyberfriend Michelle & will get to it later on in the week.

All About Eve - Scrap Your Booty!!

The photo isn't too hot & sadly I don't feel I did my best with this one as there is something missing but I just don't know what!! This tells the story of my "Sega" bum. Sega is the native dance of the Seychelles. My very best friend, Colette is a Seychellois. The dance involves lots of hip swaying & the sticking out of your bum!! They said I had the perfect shape!!
The second pic shows me in "sega" mode!!!

AJ wk 32 & TMTA - Numbers

The prompt this week for the Art Journal challenge was Quiet.
Well for me quiet is time spent on my fabby sofa reading or looking through magazines for inspiration. I printed the pic onto transparency to keep it light but had a terrible job getting the light right.
The TMTA challenge was incorporate at least one number on your ATC. I used dated paper & a sale ticket.

One Little Word - Seek

I wanted to keep this simple so the photos shone out. Title is SEEK.... refuge.
Pictures are tranquil shots of Flamborough, Yorkshire. Pics are mounted on grey bazzill.
SEEK, Papermania rub ons, Refuge, Royal & Langnickel Brush rub ons.
Starfish from a topper, Lakeland Ltd.
Background is an acetate sheet inked using Mushroom & Slate Tim Holtz Alcohol inks.
I adore this the more I look at it & am very pleased how the background turned out.

DCM - Photo Finish

Here are two photo cards for the DCM challenge.
They are photos I have printed & never used. I put them away in the hope I'd think of something to do with them, so thanks ladies!!
The first one is my favourite pot of flowers. The second, is a pic I enlarged for a challenge & then decided the digital frame was too dark for the project.
I'm feeling quite crafty & am in the process of completing two scrap pages. One for All About Eve & the other is for One Little Word. By working on them at the same time, I never get bored & if I get stuck on one, I can usually think of something to do with the second!!

Hermine's Challenge

Hermine gave us this delightful circles background & challenged us to create an ATC using it.
Here is mine, Lean On Me. Image of Leaning Tower of Pisa from travel brochure, little girl courtesy of Vintage Resources.

I have also been double tagged for the Bumper Card Society Award. I really have no idea who has & who hasn't got this, so basically if you haven't grab the award from my side bar & pass it on.
Another tag was 7 random facts.
1) I adore Goat's Cheese salad.
2) I am short sighted & wear glasses, but not as much as I did before I worked with computers.
3) I can't swim, I'm scared of water.
4) I haven't been abroad since I was 5 years old.
5) I love champagne, almost as much as tea.
6) As a child I hated playing in the snow.
7) I cry at happy or sad endings!

DCM - Recipe

Wasn't sure I'd fit this in before the next dare on Friday as I am behind with a few things & I have visitors coming at the weekend!! Trying to keep tidy & rest isn't the easiest of combinations! Then someone asked for a quick & simple card for someone who has got a place on a course. Apparently, the lady has put it off every year & this year took the plunge. Rather than good luck, I thought dreams were more in order. Gave me another chance to play with my circle punches that I adore.

This one is a recipe; 3 circles, 3 arrows & 1 square.

Happy Dance x2!

The reason for my Happy Dance, is two items I have recently made have been chosen to feature on the challenge blogs they were made for. The first one being All About Eve, my "Escape" layout.
The sceond being TMTA, my Lover ATC. I am chuffed to bits. Thank You people for making that happen!
The card below was made last week. I took it into work & it was sold within an hour!! I realised yesterday it had never even made it onto the blog!! I liked the simple stamping & the paper squares teamed with a gently stamped Scrapfairies blossom.

TMTA- Tag(s)

Think Monday Think ATC, new challenge is use tag(s) on your ATC.

Paper is Old World, DCWV. Clock & the word Discover stamped with Staz On timber brown, as I love the colour, its not harsh like black would be on this gorgeous blue shade of paper! Two tags & picture from HOTP, Artsy Collage Pretty book. Mini brad & ribbon, Papermania. The largest tag is raised on foam pads but the photo doesn't show very clearly. I'm not totally happy with this & may try another one later in the week.

Art Journal wk 31 - No Regrets!

We met across a crowded department store.
I tried to look away but I was drawn to him.
I walked away but he stared intensely.
I could feel him willing me to go on over.
At that moment, dizzy with longing,
I gave in to the impulse.......
& I have NO REGRETS!
He might have cost me £50, but he is one seriously sexy bag!
Radley I love you.
Your bright pink leather males me smile.
Sadly the picture isn't a true representation of the colour.

Inter Team Scraplift

Jumping on quick today to upload this layout. My teamies, Scrapshoppin' girls, did another inter team lift. This one is by a lady on 2peas, called waimea40, you can view her original here.
Papers are EK success Lauren Collection, psychedelic plaid by Stacy Claire boyd. Fab papers & double sided. All flowers are hand stamped & cut out using various free foam stamps & a few papermania ones too. Clocks stamped using the set from the link on the card below. Brads from stash. Photo is my mum, her siblings & a family friend. Mum is holding her baby brother's hand.
Right must get back to cleaning & stash tidying. I am painting storage as well & forgot to upload so my teamies could link!!! I'm very impressed with this page, Im not normally very bold with colour. I felt this vintage pic taken about 1956/57 needed that modern twist.

DCM - It's About Time

This has got to be one of my all time favourite types of challenge! I have a thing about clock images. I just love looking at them.
Paper is HOTP, blossom Dunhelm Mill, "tick tock" strip, 7Gypsies,
clock & message (both stamps from The Artistic Stamper) Staz On timber brown ink, used to stamp onto some more HOTP paper. small bronze brad, to attach clock, papermania.
Image of flower girl courtesy of Vintage Resources.

I used this vintage image for my very first TMTA ATC last week, & felt she deserved a card all of her own too! I love these soft blue shades.

Paper is La Boutique, K&Co. Hydrangea from Scrapfairies. Karen Foster jewel brad, clip from stationery shop. I was fortunate to get a container of 100 in 50 brights & 50 pastels, for £1. The brights are metallic & suitable for Xmas designs.

I haven't done much scrapping, but then I realised that I am up to date on the challenges I am taking part in. I have had to drop out of a few with feeling tired due to my cysts.

Making cards isn't quite the same process as layouts. No as much thought to matching up is required!! I will be back later today, or early tomorrow with my DCM entry.

DCM Mid Week Extra - Sorry

Papers are HOTP & Papermania Inspirations Warm Tones. Flower Scrapfairies, button papermania. Pink clip, stationery shop, Stamp in corner, Studio G (but says DCVW in Papercraft Inspirations. Mine were from The Range) Capital S, a foam stamp, also Papermania.

Always useful to have a few of these to hand especially with the regular postal strikes we get these days!!! Its rumoured we are having another tomorrow!!!

I prefer to say Sorry rather than use the word Belated.
