Art Journal Week 17 My Bedroom

The prompt couldn't have been more apt this week. I moved into this flat 9 years ago today so it is only fitting that I include a photo of my favourite room in the house. I have not decorated as I loved the colour scheme so much. Everywhere else I have made my mark!!! The journal strips say it all! Thank You Emily for such a fantastic challenge & for being psychic!!

I made this card about my bedroom using the colours & patterns from the wallpaper pictured below. I used pale lilac card to cover the back of my playing card & used swirls & dots & jacobean type flowers to match the style of flowers in the room. I am particularly proud of these curtains as I made them from a king sized flat bedsheet & two pillowcases for the vallance. The window was just too long to have curtains to the sill but at 105 inches long would have cost me a fortune to buy. These babies cost £17 in BHS sale, for the sheet & pillowcases, 5 years ago.
