Wednesday Stamper - Gothic Arch

The first Wednesday Stamper theme this year is Gothic arch. I have seen & admired many of these but am not happy with how mine turned out. The edges are a bit too wobbly. This is my New Year Arch. I stamped over my favourite paper from HOTP, it has journey, create, love printed in different fonts all over. The top & two bottom corners are my fav scroll stamps by design Objectives. Down the sides I stamped leaves & flowers from two of my floral See D's clear stamp sets. My image is a stamp from Crafty Indivduals, Angel Child. I stamped her twice, once onto some plain white paper & once onto some alcohol inked card. I cut the flower bouquet & clock from the paper image & inked to give a dimension to the colour. I feel she is too dark but the lighting here isn't great & the flash hates this piece. We have a dusting of snow here in Scunthorpe today so light should improve!!

I'm back at work now full time, as all my holidays are used up & its going to be hard getting used to going 5 days a week again after only working 3 for two months. I miss my two crafting days at home very much.

  1. We are our own worst critic. This is a lovely arch. Ahh the back to work syndrome. I feel for you as today was my first day back. Time is now valuable.

  3. Gorgeous arch Paula, I love the scrolls you have stamped on the background. The angel stamp is so pretty and looks great on the AI card. We don't have any snow but it's very windy. Hope your day at work goes ok.

  5. So sad you have to go back to a 5-day week :( Don't be so hard on yourself... 'tis a really pretty composition. I couldn't find the GA template last night, so I created one to fit my card!! I folded paper and cut a half-arch, then opened it and drew round a whole one (if that makes sense!!) It's a bit like making paper dolly chains... ;-D

  8. I'm with you paula, had a time cutting out the arches..wasted a few sheets of paper. However, your finishing results are wonderful, expecially like the stamping on top.

Oh wow...as you're saying the piece is a little off, I'm thinking, "THAT'S SO AWESOME!" Sometimes, we're a little too close to the things we make, I think. But, the truth is, this is GREAT!

Happy New Year and all the best for a creative and wonderful 2008!
