Crikey Ladies! It's that time of the week again, where on earth did those few days go! Well it's the weekend & time to create so pop on over the mojoholder blog & check out this week's page by a fab scrapper & photographer, Maria Kress. The bright colours are so funky. I just couldn't get the star to work for me so I went with a bracket instead and the other DT girls also picked some different shapes. That's what I love about reveal night, seeing all the different variations on the same design.

Bit of a mix of old & new again this week.

Mojoholder #101

Well it's that time of the week again. I honestly don't know where the time goes. Or maybe that is a lie. I am spending rather a lot of time crawling into bed by 8.30pm during the week as I get more & more ready for a break. In a year I have only had 12 days off & I can't wait now that my 6 months (well it's 7 months now) in my new job is completed. Well enough of me, lets get on with the proceedings. This is my page for this week's DT page on the Mojoholder blog. Do pop over to check out all the rest. We are lifting the fabulous Jill Godon this week & I love the simplicity of this page.

My page is made up of old stash again this week. Materials list;

Bazzill Avalanche cardstock. Paper, Basic Grey, Urban Couture;Silk & Cashmere. Scarlet's Letter;Pearl. Ribbon, free (found on a gift box in my Xmas stocking). Flowers, mini mix from a kit I bought when Rebecca's Scrapbook stash was open online. Title stick on bubble letters picked up in Poundland. Photos are of Colette & Kitch. Margaret, Peter, Colette's daughter & Grandson.

Something really bizzare happened to this post as I had amended bits to upload but as I went to select the time I wanted it to automatically upload my computer shut down on me!!! So it appear like I originally uploaded hours before mojo went live!

These two people, Colette and Kitchner Hoareau, have been my very close friends for 15 years. They have been more like family to me and I was treated as one of them. We have shared many happy times together and I am now very sad to say that Kitchner passed away yesterday. My heart is with Colette and all her family.

Mojoholder Challenge #98

Well I'm back after my one week craft break & we have another fabulous layout & sketch for you all to play with. Pop on over to the Mojoholder blog to see the rest of the DT versions of this page by Tone Jenson.

I will be making a series of 6" pages, for a small project I have up my sleeve. Each page is going to be made on the reverse of A 6" Jenny Bowlin 2009 calendar I got in my Christmas SC Kit. Each page will be made using the corresponding months kit from SC. Watch out for more as they appear, once a month of course. All items from the Janaury Bibliography kit with the exception of the stamps that spell the word window.

Mojoholder

Due to exhaustion & illness, I bowed out of this week's Design Team piece. The team did a splendid job so pop on over to Mojoholder Blog & check out the layout & a sketch.I spent the whole of last weekend in bed. Work is really hard right now. The roadworks are such a pain in the rear. We are late each morning, but worse even later home. 10 hour days feel more like 12 & I have no energy left for anything. The icy roads really haven't helped the situation. I hope this weekend to complete my DT piece for next weeks reveal, but right now my warm bed beckons. At least I have managed to do plenty of reading which is my second favourite hobby!

Mojoholder Challenge #96

For my Design Team piece this week, I used more old stuff up. Pop over to the mojoholder blog to see the sketch & my fellow DT team member's versions of this wonderful page by Sharon Laakkonen. Sharon can be found over on the Prima blog.

Materials list; Paper, Crate Avenue Collection :- Glam, Trendy, Style.
Daisy D's cream script. Paper edged with a Multi shaper allDeco punch, Honour.
Blossoms, from an old selection I bought from Rebecca's scrapbooking shop. Brads, Papermania.
Lace & Ric Rac, market stall. Title, Heidi Swapp Runway clear extras.
Photos are of my sister Tracy & hubby Martin on their wedding day,October 2006, Gazebo in the grounds of Langley Castle, Hecham, their gorgeous wedding venue.
I had great fun with this page. Been a rough week and Im far too tired to do anything except feed myself & sleep. Due to the roadworks I've been getting home far too late at night to really bother with my computer or crafts. Reading is all I find time for & preferably in bed with a mug of Ovaltine.

Mojoholder Challenge 95

This week myself & the other DT girls over at Mojoholder blog lifted a beautiful design by Jasmine Brahim.

I selected a photo of the gifts I wrapped for my friends & family and did a Christmas layout. I got bought some fab stamps by my friend from Tesco & I chose to heat emboss them gold for some opulence & place them down the side like patterned paper. I also heat embossed a stamp by Studio Calico to act like a gold lace border.

Materials list;

All items from SC December kit "Centre Stage" & add on "A Christmas Carol" except dymo label words, gold embossing powder, the square stamps & the glitter tree which was taken from a gift I was given (spot of tag recycling) 4 snowflake brads & ribbon scraps - from own stash.

All other materials;

Black Bazzill Cardstock, Paper, Snowflake-Making Memories, Gingerbread- October Afternoon. Journal Label, unknown as it was a gift. Hambly rub on ticket. Music Note Poinsettis flowers- Making Memories. Red felt brad- Rouge brad combo set-MM. Newsprint Glossy Black Alpha-HS. Silver mini shimmer alphas- MM. Black tiny alphas-MM. Green apple pixie stix glitter-Pink Paislee. Lace border stamp- Studio Calico exclusive stamp.

Time Minibook Pages

I got these pages completed some time ago but it took forever for me to take the photos. There are another 4 pages to share. We are up to date with the book now after a short break & the 52 weeks are coming to a close. It is a mighty thick book & one I really enjoy looking through.

WK40 Joy
WK41 Comfort
WK42 Hugs
Very down in the dumps right now. The working week is fraught with computer issues, making the job hard going & several miles of roadworks both ends of the day don't add well to the mix! I was exhausted & slept most of my weekend & plan to do pretty much the same this weekend too. I've had to go by train to work some days & that makes the day very long. I do precious little in the evening, but the lights night will be here soon!!

Mojoholder Week #94

We are back again this week over on mojoholder blog with the fresh clean lines of this Sarah Klemish page. I like how simple the design looked & how easy it could be dressed up if the need required.

I am on a mission this year to get a lot of my old stuff used up because everytime I buy something new or receive my kit, the old get pushed further to the bottom of the paper storage boxes. I have brand new kits untouched so thought that each time that I do use some old stuff, I can then use new.

Santa brought me some very nice pretties, but I stuck to my guns for this layout below.

Supply list; Paper, Yesteryear's, Homemade by Stampit Australia & Ephemera Backgrounds by Paper Pizazz. 2 pewter photo turns & brads, Papermania. Maya Road chipboard border, fence. BG Mod Rub ons. Hambly cardstock journalling sticker. American Crafts, Cream Soda Thickers. Rebecca Sower Typewriter Alphas. Slick Writer for journalling.

The chicken photo was taken at my sister's at Christmas. Her free range eggs are so yummy that I thought this baking paper was ideal for the picture. The ephemera background paper looks a lot like a shed or barn wall.

Desk Calendar

I made this to sit on my desk at the office. I had wanted to create 7 more pages to match the one I made in August for my new job, but mojo was low & time short. I plan to create a page a month to add to it & then next year I will have a full calendar & can add 2010 dates to it. I created a simple folded structure by cuting card 5ins high by 12ins long. I scored at the centre & then outwards from the centre along the long side at 5ins & 1in both sides. I added some extra card to act as a strengthening piece once glued together. The pages are from an old book. I sponged on distress inks & then lightly brushed over two thin coats of gesso. Once dried I inked my designs using Chalk inks, Malted Mauve, Pink Petunia, Perfect Plumeria & added a blue & a brown from some colourbox queues. Stamps are Gel-a-Tins Big Wild Things. The Calendar dates pad I picked up in a stationery shop for about 20p.

I'm quite pleased with the effect. The cardstock is Bazzill in brown & raspberry (not sure of the correct names had them in my stash a long time).

Welcome Back Mojoholder

This week's see's the return of Mojoholder after our Christmas break. I have missed creating my weekly DT pages. This is challenge #93. See the sketch & the rest of the design team's versions on mojoholders blog We selected a piece by Becky Novacek. Now you will probably think my design looks nothing like the original but that is all part of ScrapLifting. Taking an idea & working your own magic with your supplies. I was so inspired by the shapes & colours so I wanted a pretty girlie page. The problem with this decision was I had no pretty girlies to scrap... enter teamie Pauline with two adorably gorgeous daughters, Hayley & Iona. I added soft focus to the photo so it drew the eye directly to there smiling faces.
Once the page was together in rough I attached it to the front of a 25cm square deep canvas because I thought it would make Pauline & her family a nice gift. Materials list is below.

Bazzill Basics card, Mauve Ice cut into a semi circle. Paper & heart is Pink Paislee, Office Lingo, Lunch Hour & die cut. Embellishments; K&Co Amy Butler Ephemera, Fabric brad & floral butterfly. Melissa Frances Lace. Basic Grey, Sultry Chipboard swirl. American Crafts, Flair Friends adhesive badge, Cute. Blossoms mix from Prima & Dunhelm. Versamagic Chalk ink Pink Petunia. Papermania flat back pearls. Silver photo corner, unknown supplier. I am quite pleased with this piece & it was hard to part with.

On the run up to Christmas

I was very busy at work & so made very few things. I did get some much needed birthday cards done & did start a Christmas 2008 minibook. But, everyone at work is ill with one bug or another & it has been a battle trying to avoid them all. So I took a much needed break from my computer & the outside world. It was actually lovely to be cut off from everything for a few days & just enjoy the festive period of watching telly & not bothering to get dressed! I then went to Newcastle to spend a few days with my sister & brother -in-law & it was back home & straight back to work for a day. Had two days off & then back to work again on 2nd January. I feel well rested & ready to start creating again for the DT on mojoholder as we will go live again on Friday :0)
Deb's Birthday card for 18th December '08.
Martin's birthday card (BIL) for 1st January 2009
I will be back Friday. Just got to get through this week as we have huge changes at work & its stressful!!!

Time

is running away!!
I'm so busy at work & all the craft things that I have managed to make, is not for sharing just yet.
Due to family illness we girls on the Mojoholder DT had to finish for Christmas earlier than planned, but we will be back as normal in the New Year. I hope to be back on this blog at the weekend!

Things Are Looking Festive....

around here!! I made this mini banner to dress my mantlepiece. The fire no longer works as the chimney is unsafe & too expensive to repair so the gas fire had to be capped off to prevent Carbon Monoxide fumes entering the flat. I begged my landlord to leave it in because it makes a nice focal point for the room & takes the eyes off the manky wallpaper! I painted this fireplace as it was brown & red!!!! The decoration at the bottom is my Instant Xmas. Many of you will remember how I made it from a cheese box two years ago. I love to light my candles & turn all the lights off.

A Layout...

just because... I wanted to create it. AND, I totally enjoyed myself. I bought this fabulous Add On kit Hobson's Choice with my last SC kit Fountain Square. They feature October Afternoon Weathervane products & are very close to my heart...... they are all about HOME.

The stamp at the bottom is Heidi swapp as is the clock that I placed on the time card over the clock image. I had planned to upload this yesterday, but instead, spent the whole day under a blanket on the sofa thanking God for looking out for me. My friend Louise & I set off for work in the snow & 500 yards from my front door the car couldn't cope with the ice under the snow & skidded right across the road we were trying to turn right onto. We hit the pavement very hard, damaging the wheel rim & tyre, which I couldn't understand as we were crawling along at 4 miles an hour. The biggest worry was the car travelling far too fast behind us. He couldn't brake & had to swerve to miss us. He was only inches away & another vehicle was coming towards us. I can't even let myself think of what could have happened. I was shocked for most of the day but counted my blessings for being unharmed. Being here in the sanctuary of my home, I felt so safe & warm so even more fitting that I made this page on Sunday afternoon!

Mojoholder Challenge #92

Over on the Mojoholder blog, this week's lift came from the fabulous Betsy Veldman. I loved everything about this page & it was perfect for this black & white shot of my friends & fellow teamies, The Scrap Shoppin' Girls a.k.a, Rachel , Myself, Pauline , Nikki , Angie , Val , Anne (& Helen, who left the team ) Nic wasn't on the photo as she was busy giving birth to her beautiful daughter, Isabella when we had our retreat in February. The papers are all from my Studio Calico kit, Looking Glass & the Add on Tweedledee. I've had the kit almost two months & am still using it!! I used BG Offbeat, Lighthearted paper as circles on last weeks' snow layout & thought how lovely they looked so this week I sneaked them onto this page too. They are scrunched, inked & placed behind the Prima flowers. Buttons are from my stash & the alphabet was in a previous SC kit Iconic. Journalling block is an SC exclusive stamp as is the bird on the top right hand corner of the photo.
